As in 99 other countries, Uruguay news stories continue to reinforce gender stereotypes. As subjects women feature in 61% of “Social and Legal” stories, but when it comes to “Politics and Government” they barely reach 8% according to the fourth Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) 2010.
