[LISTEN] ‘Lulama Mokhobo should not be amongst the SABC board candidates’

Media Monitoring Africa’s William Bird says a few rotten eggs can be expected on the list. He says Mokhobo is a fairly obvious candidate that should not be considered.

She presided over the SABC during the reign of Hlaudi Motsoeneng. There were several questions around her participation in some of the deals around MultiChoice and SABC. I think there are a few others and I suspect those stories will come out in the media over the weekend.

Bird says ultimately what is important, is that the process is going forward.

For the last several months it has been a case of the ANC deliberately stalling the process and delaying it to the point of where we are on the verge of crisis, so the fact that we are going ahead, I think is important.
