Southgate 2006 (Negative Adverts)

Southgate 2006 (Negative Adverts)

This advert’s message is more frequently the rule, than it was this year: the exception. This type of advert individualises womanhood. Rather than showing women part of a bigger sisterhood, women are alone and should treat themselves. Rather than treat or look after each other, this kind of advert fails to recognise the value of other women, both in a personal and historical context.
