Anglo American 2006 (Positive Adverts)

Anglo American 2006 (Positive Adverts)

The text for the advert reads: You’ve got to love them… We do. Anglo American acknowledges the great achievements made by South African women since first marched to the Union Buildings in 1956 in protest against a law requiring black women to carry passers. This Women’s Day we celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of our country. Anglo American is to be congratulated for this advert. The picture shows women from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Traditional clothes emphasise this diversity. These women are not shown in a stereotypical way. The words complement the picture by showing these women as active participants in the history of our country. Well done Anglo American!
